Welcome your team or clients to the Belgian Beer Weekend – bigger than ever this year with an expansion to Place de la Bourse! With prepaid cards, everyone can enjoy top beers from even more Belgian breweries and the friendly atmosphere without any hassle at the till. You decide in advance the number of cards and tokens per card; everything will be ready upon arrival.

How does it work?

• 1 voucher = 1 prepaid card with tokens (directly usable at all bars at Grand Place and Place de la Bourse).
• Flexible use: choose a few cards with a higher balance to share, or give each guest their own card.
• Activation fee: €2 per card. This amount is already included in the package price of the card, so 100% of the purchased tokens remain available.
• Glass deposit: a deposit of 2 tokens applies to every beer glass. This deposit is temporarily deducted from the balance when ordering and is refunded immediately once the glass is returned for good.
• Collection: during the event, your team or guests exchange their voucher for their prepaid card at the central info desk on the Grand Place (City Hall side).

Grand Place:

• Friday 4 September: 17:30 – 22:00
• Saturday 5 September: 12:00 – 22:00
• Sunday 6 September: 12:00 – 19:30

Place de la Bourse:

• Open daily (4 to 13 September): 12:00 – 22:30

Show your voucher at the info desk on the Grand Place, have it scanned, and immediately receive the prepaid card valid for both squares.

FAQ

How does the glass deposit work?

A deposit of 2 tokens is required for every beer glass. If you order a beer costing 2 tokens, a total of 4 tokens will be deducted at the bar (2 for the beer + 2 deposit). As soon as the glass is returned, those 2 deposit tokens are refunded to the card immediately.

Exchanging and returning works as follows:

• At Grand Place: Breweries serve in their own branded glasses. You exchange or return your glass at the stand of the respective brewery.
• At Place de la Bourse: Beers are served in general BBW glasses. When ordering a new beer, simply exchange your empty glass at the bar. Want to return your glass for good at the end to get your deposit back? Do so at the separate glass deposit tent.

Tip for choosing your token balance: Keep in mind that a guest at the bar must always have enough balance on the card for both the beer AND the deposit combined (usually at least 4 to 6 tokens).

Are any tokens lost to the activation fee?

No. The activation fee (€2 per card) comes on top of the value of the tokens and is included in the total package price. For a 10-Token card (€22.00), you pay €20.00 for the tokens + €2.00 activation fee. So you get the full 10 tokens on the card to spend.

How much does a beer cost?

Most beers cost between 2 and 4 tokens, depending on the specialty.

What happens to unused tokens or refunded deposits?

Unused consumption tokens and refunded deposits simply remain on the card. Because you will always end up with at least the refunded deposit (2 tokens) on your card after returning your last glass, visitors can easily request a refund for all remaining tokens online via the payment system until the end of September.

Can my team/guests top up extra tokens if their balance runs out?

Yes. Guests can easily top up their card themselves via the QR code on the card. Please note: these additional top-ups are paid directly by the guest and will not appear on the company invoice.
